Man dead following shooting in west Charlotte, police say

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating after a shooting in west Charlotte Wednesday night left a man dead.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. on Pressley Road.

Officers said when they got to the scene they found 33-year-old Michael Camp who had been shot. He was taken to Atrium Main where he later died.

Channel 9 was at the scene while police investigated and could see officers focusing on a white car. It’s unclear at this point if the car is connected to the crime.
