Man killed after crashing car into trees in southwest Charlotte, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was killed Wednesday night after his vehicle ran off a southwest Charlotte road and crashed into trees, police said.

Emergency crews were called just after 8:30 p.m. to the scene on Four Horse Road near Birling Road, which is close to Lake Wylie.

According to investigators, they found a silver Pontiac G6 in the woods. The victim, whose name has not been released, died at the scene.

Nobody else was in the car and no other vehicles were involved in the crash, officers said. There was also no sign of alcohol or drugs playing a role in the wreck.
