Mega Millions players flock to Charlotte store known for selling winning tickets

CHARLOTTE — No one matched all six numbers in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing, making the first drawing of 2023 the fourth-largest in the promotion’s history.

Locally, Perry’s Market in east Charlotte is known for selling the winning ticket. It’s why people say it’s the only place they’re willing to play.

Linda Holland said she’s hoping to cash out the winning Mega Millions ticket.

“This is my ticket. These are my winning numbers. I’m going to win this Mega Million[s],” Holland said.

She said the only place she’s played her numbers is at Perry’s Market.

“This is one of the places that have a lot of winning numbers, winning tickets. And I have had my share. So, this is my lucky spot right here,” she said.
