Motorcyclist killed in head-on crash, state troopers say

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — A man was killed Saturday afternoon after his motorcycle crossed the center line, causing him to hit an oncoming car head-on, authorities said.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 3:45 p.m. on N.C. 181 just north of the 22-mile marker in Burke County.

43-year-old Vincente Alan Adenau was traveling south on a Yamaha motorcycle when he traveled left of center, causing him to collide head-on with a northbound Subaru.

Adenau was ejected from the motorcycle and died from his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the Subaru, 32-year-old Sean Luke Tran of Maiden, was not injured.

Officers investigated the crash and determined that neither speed nor impairment were contributing factors in the collision.
