NC marks more than one million doses of COVID vaccine administered across state

NORTH CAROLINA — North Carolina has marked more than a million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered across the state.

The milestone was reported last Friday, according to our news partner WTVD.

Health officials said starting Monday, the COVID-19 metrics dashboard will be updated each weekday so North Carolinians can track the state’s administration of vaccines.

”I am so grateful to our vaccine partners across the state who continue working in innovative ways to make sure North Carolinians have a spot to take their shot,” NCDHHS Secretary Dr. Mandy Cohen said. “It is incumbent on all of us to use the limited supply of vaccine we have as quickly and equitably as possible, finding new ways to meet people where they are.”

This comes as the United States hits a new pandemic milestone.

Bloomberg reported there are now more people vaccinated than there are COVID-19 cases.

As of Monday morning, 26.5 million Americans have received or or both shots. Since the start of the pandemic, 26.2 million Americans have tested positive for the virus.
