NC residents find KKK fliers in yards

ROXBORO, N.C. — Fliers promoting the Ku Klux Klan popped up in yards in North Carolina for the second straight day.

Roxboro residents woke up Tuesday to fliers from the Loyal White Knights of the KKK.

One man said he collected 40 and turned them into police.

He also said one of his greatest concerns is that his grandchildren were first to find them.

"It had a piece of candy in it, so naturally their attention went to the candy,” resident David Blackwell said. “(This is) something that kids should not have to see. Why we still have that kind of problem in this nation? I have no idea."

Residents in Durham County said they found similar fliers Monday.

Police said they were inside resealable bags and left outside homes.

Authorities they believe the white supremacist group is trying to recruit people in the area.
