CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Researchers will track endangered gray bats that have migrated to North Carolina.
The state’s Department of Transportation gave researchers at Indiana State University a $900,000 grant to study the bats, which normally live in other southern states like Tennessee and Alabama.
Last year, hundreds were found along bridges in North Carolina.
The NCDOT wants to know when the bats migrate, so they can schedule maintenance work at other times.
