4 teen charged after man found shot, killed in southeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police said Friday they arrested and charged a fourth person is a southeast Charlotte shooting death that happened on Nov. 30.

Marques Fleming,19, was charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Earlier in the week, three 18-year-olds were charged.

The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. on Electra Lane, near Idlewild Road and East Independence Boulevard.

Officers said they were responding to an assault with a deadly weapon call. When they got to the area, they found 46-year-old Ricardo Perez, who had been shot.

He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police identified a vehicle involved in Perez’s slaying and officers spotted that vehicle on Wednesday. They tried to pull it over but the driver refused to stop, and led officers on a chase, according to CMPD.

Police arrested the driver, 18-year-old Azaevon Singleton.

Detectives then learned of two other 18-year-olds who may have been connected to the homicide and went to a home on Palm Breeze Lane in northwest Charlotte, where they found and arrested Sedrick Sanders and Keon McMillan.

All three have been charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Authorities have not said what led to the shooting.
