NoDa Brewing to open taproom, tapas restaurant in Chapel Hill

CHARLOTTE — NoDa Brewing Co. will open its fourth taproom next month. The Charlotte brewery’s latest venue, called NoDa Brewing Co. Tapas and located at 1118 Environ Way in Chapel Hill, will include a restaurant.

That space is home to Old East Tavern, which will close over Labor Day weekend. NoDa has teamed up with Julie Paddison and Lew Hendricks — owners of the tavern as well as Bottle Rev Chapel Hill, The Poplar Café and RTP Uncorked — on that venture.

“The timing is right and we’re excited to grow with them,” says Jacob Virgil, head of strategy for NoDa.

The location will be NoDa’s first taproom outside of the Charlotte market. It’s also the brewery’s first restaurant.
