CHARLOTTE — A Charlotte nonprofit is raising money to provide counseling and other mental health resources to first responders, including police officers and firefighters.
Without the resources, many essential workers said they feared losing their job over the stigma still associated with mental health.
“They’re coming because the job is really meaningful to them and they want to be able to continue to do it well,” therapist Daniel Miles said.
The nonprofit has organized a 5K to raise money for the cause that will be held on Saturday. To sign up for the 5K, click here.
