CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating after thieves broke into a north Charlotte church for the third time in weeks, stealing everything from computers to food meant for the homeless.
Cosmopolitan Community Church, on Newland Road, near Beatties Ford Road, was targeted again over the weekend. The pastor said burglars removed boards they had over windows from the last break-in.
Police have not made any arrests, or said if they have a suspect.
The church's pastor had a message for those responsible.
“We don't have any malice in our heart, but yes, we are heartbroken,” Irma Gardner said. "We refuse to let you steal our joy because we know who's in control."
None of the break-ins were caught on surveillance cameras, making it especially difficult for police.
The church said it would like to install added security but does not have the money.
