Office park in south Charlotte nabs national coworking concept

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A coworking franchise has signed on for space in south Charlotte, making it the first national coworking group to open a shop in that part of town.

Venture X will lease about 25,000 square feet at 3540 Toringdon Way, the Toringdon 7 office building fronting Interstate 485 near Ballantyne.

This is the first North Carolina office for Venture X, a Florida-based company that describes itself as a "blend of boutique hotel and modern office styles." Kamal Rama is the franchisee for the local office, which will be called Venture X Ballantyne-Toringdon.
