One shot, seriously hurt at hotel in north Charlotte, MEDIC says

CHARLOTTE — A person was shot in north Charlotte on Thursday afternoon.

Officials say it happened just after 5 p.m. near the intersection of Old Statesville Road and W.T. Harris Boulevard.

MEDIC took one person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has not released the cause of the shooting or the identities of those involved.

Channel 9′s Jonathan Lowe was able to speak with hotel guests in the area who came out to find their car damaged by gunfire.

“It got grazed on the front of the hood so it caught our attention like we thought nothing had happened, we don’t even know if the d*** car is capable of working,” Reggie Ruise told Lowe.

Just a mile down the road, our crew could see a silver sedan on the side of the road with what looked like bullet holes.

CMPD has not said if the two scenes are connected.

Details are limited at this time.
