Organizers celebrate Music without Borders around Charlotte

Music without Borders

CHARLOTTE — Organizers in Charlotte celebrated Music without Borders this weekend.

It started Friday night at Camp North End showcasing Latin, Afrobeats and Middle Eastern music.

Festivities moved to Manolo’s Bakery and Changebaker Place in east Charlotte Saturday afternoon.

The event featured independent artists from across the state.

“It’s been amazing to see how they all connect and how they perform such independent and unique music and have found this as, like, the first opportunity where they’re able to bring it out to the community,” said Faris Khaleli, an organizer.

The event moved to Haraz Coffe House on South Boulevard Saturday night.

Attendees heard several genres including Punjabi and Arabic versions of hip-hop.
