Pastor group sues NC governor to reopen indoor religious services

Many are wondering if it’s possible to congregate for religious services as North Carolina begins to loosen its stay-at-home order.

A group of pastors has filed a lawsuit against the state after much confusion on how to hold the services.

Restore America is a group of 200 pastors, and it said parking lot services and virtual worship cannot replace gathering under one roof.

"It is not right to trample our First Amendment rights, our state constitution rights, under your feet," Pastor Ron Baity said.

State health officials said, "places of worship may hold services that exceed the mass gathering limit of ten people if those services are held outdoors in an unenclosed space and if attendees follow recommendations to promote social distancing and reduce transmission."
