Charlotte church hosts special drive-thru celebrating mothers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It’s Mother’s Day and even though people can’t all be close to loved ones right now, they are making sure mothers are cared for.

On Sunday morning, volunteers at the New Outreach Christian Center hosted a special drive-thru celebration.

Mothers were given a free meal, cash and even care packages.

“Today we’re excited about helping the mothers with this annual appreciation dinner and this is because we care,” said Pastor Brenda Stevenson, with New Outreach Christian Center.

Volunteers said the leftover food was given to families in need.
