Woman struck, killed by truck in York County was ‘kind-hearted’

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A 69-year-old woman was struck and killed Tuesday evening on a York County road, South Carolina State Highway Patrol said.

Juliet Harris was hit by a truck Tuesday evening while walking down Reservation Road near Highway 5, troopers said.

She was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the coroner’s office.

Her daughter told Channel 9 her mother had vision issues and she’s unsure where her mother was headed.

“My mom was very sweet,” said her daughter, Kendal Harris. “She was kind-hearted, caring lady. She would d give you the shirt off her back. She was very forgiving. She always wanted to help others.

The crash is currently under investigation.
