DALLAS, N.C. — A man was seriously hurt after being struck by a car in Gaston County Saturday evening, officials said.
The incident happened just before 5:30 p.m. on East Trade Street near North Davis Street in Dallas.
Troopers said Parrish Brown tried to cross East Trade Street and Dallas Stanley Highway when a car hit him, the Gaston Gazette reported.
Authorities said he was taken to a nearby hospital with severe head trauma.
The road was closed for hours while officers investigated the scene. The driver stayed at the scene.
