NEWTON, N.C. — Neighbors at an apartment complex in Newton woke to a shooting just outside their building early Sunday morning, Channel 9’s Dave Faherty has learned.
Witnesses told Faherty that they spotted Newton Police Department officers looking for shell casings outside of the Daybreak Apartments on East 1st Street.
Police told Faherty it happened shortly after 6 a.m.
Nobody was reported to be hit by the gunfire. The shooting is still under investigation.
We’re asking police if they’re looking for any suspects in connection with the case.
