Police: Elderly woman found safe after being reported missing

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police said a missing elderly woman from Charlotte was found safe Tuesday morning.

Officers were looking for Peggy Furr, 85, after she was last seen Monday afternoon on Sandy Porter Road. She had visited a friend but hadn’t contacted friends or family members since then, police said.

She was found safe around 8 a.m., police said.
