Police release sketch after attempted abduction of 10-year-old

CRAMERTON, N.C. — Cramerton police have released a sketch of a man after an attempted abduction Saturday.

Police said the man was described as a white male, between the ages of 30-40, about 200 pounds, with short reddish-brown hair and beard.

Cramerton Police were called to the McDonald Athletic Field on Park Drive in McAdenville at around 4:30 p.m. to investigate a report of an attempted abduction of a 10-year-old boy. The boy told officers that a white man grabbed him and attempted to pull him into a wooded area. The child was able to get away and get help.

The man was said to have been of muscular build and was wearing khaki shorts and no shirt. He was last seen leaving the Dixon Road area driving an older model, faded blue, Honda Civic or Accord, four-door style vehicle.

Cramerton Police continue to ask for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect in this case.
