• Police: Sex offender back behind bars


    HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. - A convicted sex offender is back behind bars on Tuesday night on charges of selling marijuana.

    Huntersville police arrest Erick Shields at his home on Southland Drive.

    He is facing a long list of drug charges as well as a charge of use of social networking sites by a sex offender.

    Shields was convicted in Haywood County in 2006 of sexual exploitation of a minor.
