CHARLOTTE — We’re working to learn more about a response from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in a northeast Charlotte neighborhood.
There were several officers in the parking lot of the Evoke Living at Sugar Creek Apartments.
SWAT was also at the scene.
A neighbor told Channel 9 it was a standoff and that some apartments had to be evacuated.
“It’s a little nerve wrecking, seeing them with giant guns, scopes, helmets on,” said Andrea Wright. “It seems like it’s serious, you keep hearing more and more police cars coming up.”
CMPD has not said yet what brought them to the complex, if anyone is hurt or if anyone is in custody.
