ROCK HILL, S.C. — The application deadline for the Paycheck Protection Program that’s kept millions of small businesses in business has just been extended until May 31.
Michael’s Rock Hill Grille used a PPP loan to pay employees and keep the doors open during the pandemic.

“We are struggling to survive,” owner Raj Khanal said. “This is our livelihood. We want to keep our door open.”
Khanal applied for a second PPP loan in January and found out Thursday afternoon he was approved.
The program has given out more than $680 billion in loans, mostly to small businesses with under 20 employees.
It was set to end next week until Congress voted Thursday afternoon to extend it.
