CHARLOTTE — ABOVE: The latest forecast update from Severe Weather Center 9. To stay on top of changing weather conditions, be sure to download our free WSOC-TV weather app.
- A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 9 p.m. for Mecklenburg and Union counties, as well as areas to the south and west.
- However, storms are already falling apart, and I expect the watch may once again be canceled early.
- We could see a stray shower Monday morning, but otherwise, Labor Day is looking fantastic for outdoor plans!
- Skies will clear during the afternoon, with highs in the mid-80s following morning lows in the 60s.
- The pleasant weather continues Tuesday before temperatures climb into the low 90s Wednesday and Thursday.
- Thankfully, the heat won’t last long—another system should bring cooler temperatures back by next weekend.
