Pregnant cows fatally shot on Charlotte radio host’s farm

WAXHAW, N.C. — Sheriff’s deputies in Union County are investigating an animal cruelty case involving the deaths of four pregnant Black Angus cows.

Two of the cows at John Isley’s farm off S. Providence Road in Waxhaw were shot last month, while two others were euthanized because of the extent of their injuries.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the animal cruelty case and has not yet identified a suspect in the killings, according to a Facebook post they made on Wednesday.

Isley is the co-host of Charlotte’s “John Boy & Billy” syndicated radio and owns a 120-acre farm near the town of Waxhaw. The “John Boy & Billy Big Show” is broadcast each morning on nearly 50 stations in 17 states in the South and Midwest, according to the show’s website.
