Race team owned by Jordan, Hamlin buys land in Huntersville

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Michael Jordan’s and Denny Hamlin’s 23XI Racing NASCAR team has purchased property for what is presumably its future headquarters in Huntersville.

An entity named 2311 Real Estate Holdings LLC purchased 15 acres at Statesville and Alexandriana roads in mid-July, according to Mecklenburg County real estate records. It paid $3.7 million for the site, which is part of a larger mixed-use development that was approved by town leaders earlier in March. The mixed-use development is headed by developer Jake Palillo, who leads the entity that sold the land to 2311 Real Estate Holdings.

A spokesperson for 23XI Racing confirmed to the Charlotte Business Journal that the team purchased land “for a potential future expansion.”
