Real estate roundup: A look at the latest residential projects across the Charlotte area

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — September was a busy month when it came to residential real estate projects in the Charlotte region.

A plethora of new developments are in the planning stages across the area while others got underway in recent weeks. HHHunt Corp., for instance, just broke ground on its third local project — a 320-apartment development in Huntersville called Abberly Liberty Crossing.

And there are many projects, ranging from apartments and townhouses to single-family residential, still to come. That includes, among others, a rezoning petitions approved by Charlotte City Council in September for up to 350 apartments just outside of uptown, for 138 townhouses in northwest Charlotte and for a mix of apartments, townhouses and office space in north Charlotte.

Plans for apartment projects in South End, nearby in the Wilmore neighborhood, in Optimist Park and in uptown were disclosed last month as well.

The areas surrounding Charlotte will also see their fair share of residential development. A project that would add up to 250 apartments and 90 single-family homes is in the works in Rock Hill as are other apartment, townhouse and single-family developments for Fort Mill, the Lake Wylie area, Gastonia, Concord and Mooresville.
