CHARLOTTE — A Rock Hill family is without a home after a fire destroyed their house Tuesday morning. Homeowners Chris and Cortney Gaston Ruble lost all of their belongings due to extensive fire and water damage.
The fire occurred around 8 a.m., leaving the structure charred and gutted. Heavy smoke billowed from the building as flames spread throughout the home.
A neighbor reported hearing a popping sound near the back of the house shortly before the owner ran out the front door.
Fire investigators stated that the blaze appeared to originate in the rear of the home. The official cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The GoFundMe has been set up to help the family recover from the total loss of their home and belongings.
Nyasia Green-McZeke, a local neighbor, expressed support for the displaced homeowners. “So, I really do hope they get the help that they need and are able to rebuild and start over from scratch and not have to worry about this again,” Green-McZeke said.
