CHARLOTTE — A school bus caught fire Thursday morning in west Charlotte.
It happened around 7:40 a.m. along Tuckaseegee Road near Turning Oak Drive.
The bus was on its way to East Voyager Academy of Charlotte with students inside when it burst into flames.
Video from the scene shows large clouds of black smoke and flames shooting out from the bus.
The school says the students and the driver are safe, and parents have been notified.
The fire forced officials to close one lane of Tuckaseegee Road.
