School officials: Brothers arrested after starting fight with resource officers

CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — Two brothers were jailed Thursday after being accused of attacking a pair of school resource officers at Garinger High School.

Details have been slow to emerge, but officials said one of the two students got into a fight with a school resource officer. The fight escalated when the student’s brother stepped in to help.

The fight happened shortly before 8 a.m.

Students said they did not know much about the incident because it ended as quickly as it started.

School officials said one of the teens – they are not sure if it was Michael or Marcus Slawon – initially started an argument with a resource officer.

When both brothers attacked the officer, officials said, the other resource officers stepped in.

That officer was assaulted, too.

Both Slawon brothers have previous charges for disorderly conduct. Michael Slawon has an older larceny charge, records show.
