Skeletal remains found in northwest Charlotte woods, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A homicide investigation is underway after skeletal remains were found Sunday in a wooded area in northwest Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The remains were discovered just after 10:30 a.m. near Friendship Village Place off Beatties Ford Road.

Homicide detectives were working with the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner’s Office to identify the victim.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing and anyone with information should call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective.
