South End to lose a gastropub and speakeasy later this month

CHARLOTTE — The Manchester’s days in South End are numbered.

The neighborhood gastropub and its speakeasy, Room 1812, will close Dec. 19 — just a few months shy of its two-year anniversary.

It sits on a 2-acre parcel purchased by Florida-based Stiles Corp. and San Francisco real estate firm Shorenstein Properties. A groundbreaking for a $165 million, 23-story tower called 110 East is planned for early 2022.
