MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — State Representative for Mecklenburg County Laura Budd is calling on insurance companies to better cover breast cancer screenings after she herself was diagnosed.
Our partners at the Charlotte Observer report Budd said she was diagnosed last fall through a follow-up mammogram that cost her $790.
Budd is supporting House Bill 297, which would apply the same insurance rules for routine scans to follow-up ones.
