ROCK HILL, S.C. — Police have arrested and charged a suspect accused of beating a man to death inside a Rock Hill apartment early Sunday morning.
Police were called to an apartment on South Confederate Avenue around 1:30 a.m. after getting a call about an unresponsive man inside.

When officers got to the apartment, they found 59-year-old John Ferrell on the living room floor with head injuries that were consistent with an assault.
During the investigation, police named 37-year-old Jerod Cook as a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest.
Cook was taken into custody and charged with murder.
Authorities have not said what led up to the assault or said if Cook and Ferrell knew each other.
