Suspect receives eight-year sentence for stabbing Rock Hill K-9 officer

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Travonte Tate has been sentenced to five years in prison for stabbing Rock Hill Police Department K-9 Officer Apollo, with an additional three-year sentence for resisting arrest with a deadly weapon.

Tate pleaded guilty to both charges and will serve the sentences consecutively.

K-9 Apollo has recovered from his injuries.
