Therapy dog helps healthcare workers deal with stress on the job

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A four-legged volunteer is spreading hope and happiness in a setting that oftentimes lacks both.

Ray Angele and his golden retriever Alaska spend hours each week visiting with the staff and patients at Novant Health in Huntersville.

“These people have tough jobs here for sure and if this gives them a little break in the action, we absolutely love it,” says 77-year-old Angele.

>> In the video at the top of this page, Channel 9′s Hunter Sáenz tags along with Angele and Alaska to see the impact the therapy dog is making.
