Trailer full of supplies for people without homes stolen from local nonprofit, officials say

CHARLOTTE — A local nonprofit said it is trying to recover after a trailer full of thousands of dollars worth of supplies for people without homes was stolen from them.

Block Love said the trailer was used to provide blankets, food and supplies to people in need all over the Charlotte area.

Channel 9′s Tina Terry spoke to the organization about how this theft is impacting the work they do.

Block Love told Channel 9 that the trailer was located outside of their headquarters on Graham Street.

The owner, Deborah Phillips, said she went out of town last week and when she returned, the trailer was gone.

“You can just bring it back. No questions asked,” Phillips said. “We’ll take it back.”
