Trespassing signs and barrier put up after drowning at Hickory waterfall

HICKORY, N.C. — No trespassing signs and a plastic barrier are in place to keep people away from a waterfall where a seven-year-old drowned.

Abel Friday-Williams drowned at the bottom of the falls next to Bruce Meisner Park in Hickory in early April.

Hickory city leaders say the falls are off limits.

The barrier is in the woods next to the park.
