Troopers investigate deadly Iredell County crash on I-40

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — State troopers say they are investigating a fatal crash Friday morning on Interstate 40 in Iredell County.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, it happened just after 3:30 a.m. near the Cool Springs Road bridge past Mocksville Highway.

Troopers say the left lane is currently blocked for the investigation. Drivers should expect delays in the area.

Channel 9 is asking NCSHP for more information about what led up to the crash and if any other cars were involved.
