MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — Troopers are investigating after a fatal five-car crash shut down I-85 south for hours on Christmas Eve.
The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. near the Concord Mills Mall exit off I-85 southbound and involved five vehicles.

Officials said Rachel Vidrine was pronounced dead at the scene and another person was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
