Two killed, one injured after separate homicides in Wadesboro

WADESBORO, N.C. — Two people are dead, and one is injured after separate homicides in Wadesboro Saturday night.

The Wadesboro Police Department first responded to a homicide investigation at Wheeler Street and Sikes Ave just after 7 p.m. Officials said that the person believed to be responsible for this homicide is in custody.

Then, three hours later, Wadesboro Police responded to shots fired near Myrtlewood Drive, about two miles away from the first incident.

Officers said when they arrived, they found one person dead and another with a gunshot wound; that person was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Their current condition is unknown.

Police said there is no known threat to the public at this time.

The identities of the victims in either homicide have not yet been released.
