Union County Public Schools restructures media roles amid funding shortfall

Union County Public Schools

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Union County Public Schools is making staffing changes to account for a $10 million deficit in state funding.

The district says it’s eliminating 11 media coordinator positions.

Starting next year, they will get a title change and serve several schools instead of one.

District leaders say there are some vacancies, so employees won’t lose their jobs.
