Upscale restaurant Para nears opening in South End

CHARLOTTE — Upscale restaurant Para is inching closer to opening in South End. Hiring is ongoing and the transformation of that 2,300-square-foot space is almost complete, says Chet Desai, one of the partners.

No timetable for when that restaurant will open has been set yet. “We’re close,” Desai says. “It’s finishing touches at this point.”

He’s working with friends David Feimster, Ricky Patel and Jigs Desai on that venture at a 235 W. Tremont St. That space was formerly home to Zeppelin, which closed in October 2020 because of Covid pressure.
