Vote 2022: In Charlotte’s general election, key roles remain up for grabs

CHARLOTTE — July is election month for the Queen City, and it’ll be up to voters to decide who will represent Charlotte.

Before Charlotteans head to the polls, the Political Beat’s Joe Bruno is asking some of the candidates why they should get your vote.

On July 26, many will cast their votes in a number of important races in Charlotte. Among them are the mayoral race and city council at-large race.

In the council race, voters can select up to four people.

The Democrats running are Braxton Winston, Dimple Ajmera, Lawana Slack-Mayfield and James Mitchell. The Republicans running are David Merrill, Charlie Mulligan, Carrie Olinski and Kyle Luebke.
