CORNELIUS, N.C. — Wegmans is one step closer to opening a second location in Mecklenburg County.
A rep for Wegmans told Channel 9 it’s entered into an agreement with Atrium Health to purchase property in Cornelius.
Wegmans says it’s evaluating the site as a potential location for a grocery store, though no final decisions have been made.
The property is located at the southwest corner of West Moreland Road and Statesville Road, next to the Atrium Health Lake Norman complex.
Wegmans will open its first Charlotte-area location in Ballantyne on Oct. 14.
