Wells Fargo to cut positions in mortgage department

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One of Charlotte’s largest employers is planning to cut more than 900 jobs.

Wells Fargo will be cutting positions in the Wells Fargo mortgage unit.

Three employees in Charlotte and four employees in Ft. Mill just received 60-day notices.

The company says demand for mortgage refinancing has gone down over the past year.
