SOUTH CAROLINA — Next year, medical bills in South Carolina may look a little longer.
Starting in January, hospitals and healthcare facilities will be required to give patients itemized bills, in writing and electronically.
This is part of a push by York County state representative health sessions to bring patients more transparency.
Bills will have to clearly state what the patient owes, and the amount being sought by insurance.
