[Jury selection begins for man accused of shooting, paralyzing father]
The 2015 shooting left the father of four paralyzed.
McKee's wife told the jury on Monday that doctors told her the bullet hit her husband's vertebrae and caused irreparable damage to his spinal cord.
She remembered collapsing and crying when they told her he'd never walk again.
Because of concerns that Thomas has ties to a gang, anyone attending the trial will have to show identification or have special permission from the judge.
