Wimbledon won’t credential influencers following US Open issues

Tennis

Wimbledon does not plan to allow an influx of influencers at next year’s Grand Slam.

This comes after a large group of influencers caused a number of disturbances at this year’s U.S. Open. Those disturbances included the use of ring lights and loud talking during the matches. There has also been the odor of marijuana occasionally during the tournament.

According to the Press Association, at next year’s Grand Slam, security will confiscate items like ring lights that could be used to disrupt matches.

Wimbledon will not have any accreditation category for influencers or content creators.

This year, the US Open gave official accreditation to 100 content creators as well as traditional journalists and broadcasters.
